Growing your own vegetables is different than picking them up in your local market or grocery store. Not only are they fresher, but you can harvest them differently.
Most vegetables that you see and buy in the store are havested in their entirety. The entire edible part of the vegetable is cut, and then packaged increasing the footprint of what you are eating.
But when you grow vegetables at home, you have another option - progressive harvesting. Progressive harvesting is where you take leaves from the base of the plant, leaving the plant intact. This allows the plant to continue to grow, providing you with more to eat. In fact, progressive harvesting stimulates growth in many plants and so is beneficial for you and for the plant.
You still have the option of cutting the entire plant, because at Waterfall Gardens, your nursery subscription will replace those. But now you can progressively harvest as well.
